Therapy for Neurodiverse Individuals

For folks ready to move from masking and feeling like an outsider to being accepted and empowered as their authentic selves.

You have often felt misunderstood, shamed, out of step and out of place. You pretend to be “normal” to fit in, but it just highlights how different you really feel. You’re tired of people pleasing–and you’re lonely, craving connection with someone who wants to know you as you are. You feel like a burden on others, as though you have to dim your light to avoid burning out the people you love. It has left you feeling burnt out, frustrated and discouraged, a faint reflection of the excited, spontaneous and active person you know you can be.

There’s a word for what you’re experiencing: Neurodivergence. It means you are different–beautiful and gifted in ways different from neurotypical brains. Perhaps you’ve received a diagnosis of Autism, or another kind of neurodivergence, and it has left you feeling more different than ever. You may have been diagnosed with a learning disability, ADHD, an anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or Tourette’s syndrome. The neurodiversity lens believes these conditions reflect different – normal – ways of being, each part of the human experience.

At Mind Body Wellness, you will work with therapists trained specifically in neurodivergence, and find connection, belonging, growth and understanding. There is no “one size fits all” approach. You’ve been given a unique perspective and skill set. A guide in your process of self-discovery and awareness can help you discover the awesome asset your neurodivergent brain can be, helping you heal old wounds, and develop a new capacity for self-acceptance, resilience, and joyfulness!

This is just some of the neurodivergent umbrella and it keeps changing as our understanding evolves!
